Whether you are ready to start your entrepreneurial journey or have been in the game for a few years, here are a few must attend conferences for us Sistahpreneurs:

Afrotech 2019

November 7 – 10, 2019; Oakland, CA
Afrotech is for Black startups and entrepreneurs and is filled with tech, talks, teaching, learning, and pitching for entrepreneurs who are ready to get their wheels in motion.

Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit

February 28 – March 3, 2019; Las Vegas, NV
The Women of Power Summit is a professional leadership conference designed especially for executive women of color. This event attracts influential businesswomen from across the country.

Black Wall Street: Homecoming

TBD; Durham, NC
Focused on the crossroads of content, connections and culture, Black Wall Street Homecoming is a 3-day program of mixers, panels, and speakers. Their “for us, by us” concept is designed to help black entrepreneurs launch their business ideas.

Power Rising

February 21 –24, 2019; New Orleans, LA
The Power Rising Summit provides a space for Black women to turn their power into action. The Summit is organized around five key pillars of activism and engagement: Business & Economic Empowerment; Culture, Community, and Society; Education, Technology, and Innovation; Health & Wellness; and Political Empowerment.

Sistahpreneurs Goal Digger Retreat

December 2019; Denver, Colorado
The Goal Digger Business Planning Retreat is a 2 1/2 day immersion experience designed for the solopreneur or microbusiness. Participants are guided through professional strategic planning processes for visioning, setting concrete business goals and writing out clear action plans for the upcoming business year. 

Summit 21

Of course, this list isn’t complete without the queen mother conference for Black women everywhere.  What you might not know about the Essence Festival is that the entrepreneurship expo is an amazing way to connect with some of the most successful power players in the country.

Make time to travel and attend professional conferences and you’ll find it’s a great way to build a national network, increase brand awareness and dedicate time to your professional development.
